PRAYER AND FASTING 2025

What is Fasting?
Fasting is abstaining from all food or nourishing substances eaten or drunk.  In the absence of food and conjunction with prayer, you are drawing God to your cries and concerns.  Fasting is a process of concentration and meditation.  In fasting, you must consecrate yourselves, setting apart all-natural, mental, and emotional barriers.  As you sacrifice all substances the body needs, you demonstrate the greater need for God to handle your request or situation.  You must stay committed, focusing on God, and never doubt him, knowing he can keep and sustain you.

“When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly, I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your father, who is unseen, and your father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. - Matthew 6:16-18

What is Prayer?
Prayer is requesting help and expressing devotion, giving praise, thanks, and worship. It is one-on-one time we spend with God; we commune with him, not just speaking but listening as well. By praying, we form a strong relationship with him, knowing him, respecting him, and loving him. In having a relationship with God, our communication grows, and we are more confident that he hears and will answer our cry.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly, I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your father knows what you need before you ask him. - Matthew 6:5

NO EATING OR DRINKING from 7 AM to 12 PM
Consecrate yourself to God during those hours, and God will continue to provide you.

Prayer and Fasting Petition
Theme: " The Faith that Pleased God"
Scripture: Hebrews 11:16

The trouble and despair that our nation is in will only be changed when the people of God come together to fast and pray. The Bible states in Matthew 17:21, "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. The people of God must remember and know assuredly that we have a friend in Jesus.  The old hymn says...all our sins and griefs to bare.  It is a privilege to carry EVERYTHING to God in prayer."

So, we will do just that and carry everything to God in prayer.  We will consecrate ourselves during this time and come together at a set time to pray.  We believe in God.  I'll pray for you. You pray for me, and we will both watch God change things.

Below is the schedule of Fasting and Prayer petitions for that week:

Day # 1
Sunday, April 13, 2025 – Healing
(Mind, Body, Soul, Emotional)

James 5:13-15 "Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.  Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Day # 2
Monday, April 14, 2025 - Family

Colossians 3:13 “Bear with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgive each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”

Day # 3
Tuesday, April 15, 2025 - Church

Ephesians 4:11-13 - "So Christ himself gave the Apostles, the Prophets, the Evangelists, the Pastors, and Teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ".

Day # 4
Wednesday, April 16, 2025 - Government

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Day # 5
Thursday, April 17, 2025 - Employment

Matthew 17:20 "He replied, "Because you have so little faith.  Truly, I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you."

Psalm 9-:17 -"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands".

Day # 6
Friday, April 18, 2025 - Finances
Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus".

Day # 7
Saturday, April 19, 2025 - Yourself
(Rhema Word #Call2worshipkaw; 1:15pm)

Ephesians 6: 10-17 - "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground and, after you have done everything, stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, the breastplate of righteousness in place, and your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God".
